for Women in Afghanistan
Our collaboration with Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan strengthens our mission to empower women through education. Together, we design and implement initiatives that promote women's literacy and language proficiency, fostering independence and confidence.
Darakht-e Danesh,
the learning platform of Canadian Women for Afghan, is instrumental in our collaborative efforts. This platform offers a wide array of online resources, including English courses and secondary school materials. Through Darakht-e-Danesh, we empower Afghan women with accessible, high-quality education, enabling them to enhance their language skills and access valuable secondary education resources online.
University of Fribourg – Department of Educational Sciences
Afghan Women Support collaborates with the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), Department of Educational Sciences, in the context of student internships and academic research projects. The University of Fribourg is a public, bilingual university offering Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Educational Sciences and providing students with opportunities for practice-based learning and empirical research.
Through this collaboration, students from Educational Sciences and related disciplines engage with Afghan Women Support as part of internships, research projects, and thesis work. The partnership enables students to gain practical experience in international education, qualitative and visual research methods, and gender-sensitive educational approaches, while critically reflecting on education in contexts of social and political restriction.
Students working with Afghan Women Support may contribute to areas such as educational program development, qualitative data collection and analysis, visual and narrative research, and the evaluation of learning and empowerment initiatives. The collaboration emphasizes ethical research practice, reflexivity, and the responsible engagement with marginalized perspectives.
This partnership strengthens the exchange between academic knowledge and practical educational work and supports Afghan Women Support’s mission to promote education, visibility, and self-empowerment for women in Afghanistan through research-informed practice.

Omid for Girls
New Partnership: Omid for Girls & Afghan Women Support
We are proud to announce a new partnership between Omid for Girls and Afghan Women Support.
Through this collaboration, students from Omid for Girls are taking part in the mental health program of Afghan Women Support, while both organizations work together in different ways to support Afghan girls and young women. This partnership also creates meaningful opportunities for exchange and cooperation with the young, dynamic volunteers of Omid for Girls.
Omid for Girls is a program that connects girls in Afghanistan with virtual tutors. It provides tutoring in English and math and currently has 18 chapters worldwide. Its mission is to help bridge the education gap while building a strong community centered on friendship, female empowerment, and learning.

Invited as a panel speaker following the screening of the documentary Writing Hawa, in Zurich sharing the work of Afghan Women Support and discussing the realities, resilience, and educational rights of Afghan women.
